5 New Year’s resolutions to take care of your eyes
Now 2022 is upon us, and we're into the month of January, which is synonymous with good intentions and new resolutions. Every year, it is customary to set out a few good resolutions that we will try to keep (or not!) in the year ahead. And what if 2022 was the year you decided to take care of your eyes?
1- This year, I won’t forget to remove my makeup!
Who can honestly say they have never “forgotten” to take their makeup off after a long day at work? There’s no use denying it..we’ve all been guilty of this at some point. Nevertheless, wherever you apply makeup and however much you use, it is really essential to properly remove it all every day. This is true even if, at the end of the day, your eyebrow makeup seems to have faded or even completely vanished.
Your skin needs to breathe, and it is important to remove impurities that have built up throughout the day. Even a small amount of makeup can clog your pores. Some greasy and/or irritating substances can create slight inflammation, which, over time, may lead to redness or dry skin. So, to take care of your skin, don’t forget to take your makeup off every evening before bed. It is during the night that your skin gets to work and the cells regenerate. If various substances and makeup products interfere with this process, your skin could become dull and wrinkled more easily over time.
2 - This year, I will regularly shape my eyebrows
Whether you’ve not had the time, you’ve been feeling lazy, or you keep putting it off, it’s easy to neglect your beautifully shaped eyebrows. And then, before you know it, it’s been over a month since you’ve touched them, and regrowth is starting to appear and spoil your beautiful brow line.
This year, it’s time to ditch this bad habit and decide to regularly maintain your brows. Whether you go to a salon or do them at home, don’t wait too long to act. With a regular rhythm in place, regrowth will be slower and easier to control, making your brows easier to care for at home on a day-to-day basis, saving you the time and hassle of starting from scratch with a full reshape to restructure your brows.
3 - This year, I will take care of my skin!
Having beautiful eyes is not just a question of makeup. Makeup can enhance your look, but taking care of your eyes, and particularly the skin around your eyes, is just as important. Skin in the eye area is particularly thin, so it is important to apply moisturizing creams and skincare treatments to prevent lines from appearing.
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to wait to be 50 before using anti-aging products or other face creams. From the age of 25, skin can start to get thinner and lines can appear. By properly moisturizing and caring for your skin, you can keep it looking fresh, toned, and firm. To avoid a tired look with dark circles under your eyes, don’t forget to moisturize around your eyes and massage the area to stimulate microcirculation. Your eyes will get their sparkle back, and your skin will thank you for it!
4 -This year, I will use makeup to enhance my eyes
The global pandemic has meant we’ve changed the way we wear makeup since 2020. With a mask on all day, it’s difficult to make your lips stand out. This means that for 2022, we’re focusing on enhancing our eyes with makeup. As eyes are the only part of the face really visible when you wear a mask, you can treat yourself and go for beautiful makeup suited to your eye color and style.
Don’t forget to take care of your eyebrows: beautifully shaped and well-maintained brows will intensify and draw attention to your eyes. You can then enhance them with mascaras, eye pencils, eyeliners, and eyeshadows. Don’t hesitate to play with colors and contrasts to bring your eyes
out and make you look irresistible.
5 - This year, I will adopt a healthy lifestyle
A healthy lifestyle is also an important part of taking care of your eyes and your skin. A bad diet and not enough sleep can lead to a tired look, dull complexion, and less glowing skin that is more prone to spots and all the other imperfections that you want to avoid.
For perfect skin, as well as a glowing and radiant complexion, make sure you eat a balanced diet containing foods that are good for your skin, get enough sleep, and keep fit with regular exercise. This will benefit your whole body and overall health, but you’ll also see the results on your face. What more could you ask for ?
